07 · HOW I WORK

ZUKUNFTSMOMENT.

At Home in the Fog.

"At Home in the Fog" is my guiding theme.

It stands for times when the path is not yet clear, and yet something begins to move. You don’t see the entire landscape, only parts of it.

HOW WE WORK

We have conversations. And we explore what happens within them.

Some things reveal themselves in what we tell. And some in how we tell it, how we experience ourselves as we do, and what emerges between people in that moment. We may slow down, stay with a bodily sensation or a thought, or take a closer look at a familiar dynamic.

Our conversation doesn’t stop at telling the story. It includes what you are experiencing in the moment. It is precisely there that something may begin to unfold for which there are no words yet.

IMPRESSIONS FROM WORKING TOGETHER

My wife and I run a practice together and have four children. We work really well together professionally, less so as parents, and as a couple, we no longer knew what was going on. So we traveled from the Frankfurt area to see Kornelia and take a whole day just for ourselves. We were very tense and felt that everything had become incredibly tangled.

The day was deep, painful, and at the same time filled with moments of genuine warmth. Simply beginning to untangle what we each needed as business owners, as parents, and as a couple was incredibly eye-opening. We worked with Kornelia both individually and together.

Kornelia is deeply empathetic and creates a space where nothing feels forced. There were many quiet moments in which we felt safe, supported, and truly at ease. Her three dogs brought a sense of lightness and warmth throughout the day.

Even nine months later, we continue to meet with Kornelia regularly over Zoom, allowing us to keep building on the work we began together.

We worked with Kornelia for four months. We weren't actually looking for support until I came across something she had written and thought, "Yes, we do need support. 'Distance Without Drama' describes us exactly."

Over 15 years, we built everything we had hoped to build together. Life was good and yet there was this quiet emptiness and silence between us.

With Kornelia, everything felt natural—even in the midst of tears and difficult moments. We worked on our bond, and during our very first session, we could already feel that we were still there, still connected. That was incredibly meaningful.

With Kornelia, we felt safe, truly seen, and treated as equals at every step. That meant a great deal to us.

Two intensive days with my mother and my three brothers.

We kept getting stuck on the same issues. Misunderstandings grew bigger and bigger, and sometimes we lost contact with each other completely. We wanted to understand how we could reconnect with each other as a family.

I had no idea what to expect from those two days. Looking back, they were more intense than I had imagined - and at the same time more helpful than I ever expected. The process was clearly structured, so we always knew where we were in the conversation. Kornelia held the space with calm and clarity, and I felt safe enough to speak openly.

For the first time, I felt that it truly became visible how differently each of us had experienced the same family. We each carried our own version of the story, and suddenly so many things began to make sense.

I left those two days with a much clearer understanding of what each of us was truly longing for and of how deeply we all longed for connection despite everything that had happened.

We spent an intensive day with Kornelia. We thought about it for a long time because we had originally been looking for mediation.

I first met with Kornelia for two individual sessions. During those conversations, I realized that what we were dealing with wasn't simply a matter of finding a solution or reaching an agreement. What we were truly longing for was closeness and a way to recognize one another again as a family.

I was then able to convince the rest of my family to join me and we went to spend a whole day with her.

The day with Kornelia was intense and deeply emotional, and gave us a lot of clarity about how we keep losing sight of each other.

We continue to use the opportunity to reflect with Kornelia from time to time, and doing that online from Vienna works wonderfully.
